Our crew is back for more competition in 2026! This fall season promises to be just as exciting as any we've had so far. In this issue of Buboltz Kids Sports, we take a mixed look at some spring/summer results as well as early Fall season updates as there's been plenty of achievements to recognize!
Starting with our collegiate athletes, Madelyn Vanderhoof finished up her Junior Track and Field Season at Wisconsin Lutheran College with her best season yet. Madelyn was on two relay teams that made WLC’s Top 10 all-time lists during the Indoor season. Both the 4x200m relay and the Distance Medley relay earned a spot in WLC history.
In her outdoor season, she set personal bests in both the 200 and the 400, including the 2nd-best time on the team in the 400m. At conference, she placed 7th in the prelims of the 400, earning her a spot in the finals. Madelyn and her relay teams performed well at the NACC Conference championships. The 4x100m relay team placed 4th, while the 4x400m relay team placed 5th. Overall, the WLC Warriors placed 5th out of 12th teams, their best finish since 2022.
Way to go Madelyn!!
Senior Micah Vanderhoof enters his final season of cross country looking to be a solid contributor to a team that has been picked to finish 3rd in the UMAC conference this year (according to some online prognosticators...we think they are sleeping on the Knights).
In some grueling conditions, the heat index was estimated to be 92 degrees, the Knights managed a 4th place finish. Micah ran a very solid 32:33 8k to place 42nd overall (out of 76 competitors).

Noelle’s coaching career continued in the spring, serving as an assistant coach for the high school dance team at Just for Kix in New Ulm, MN. This season, Noelle is transitioning to coaching for the younger age groups, including the Wee Petites (K-1st Grade) and the Teeny Kix (18 months-3 years).
In between coaching dance and studying to enter the teaching ministry, Noelle played the lead role, Sophie, in MLC’s Children’s Theater production of The BFG by Roald Dahl. She was also the lead dance choreographer for the show. The cast performed for over a 1000 area grade school students, as well as two shows for the public.

Hannah finished her sophomore JV basketball season with a record of 18-3 and was rewarded with a call-up to Varsity for their playoff run. She wasted no time jumping into track and field season, where the Lady Warriors had a fantastic season. The team brought home both a Conference and Regional Championship. Hannah earned 1st Team All-Conference awards in both high jump and the 4x400. She capped off her season by qualifying for Sectionals in high jump and as an alternate on the 4x100 relay team.
This fall, Hannah once again earned a roster spot on the Varsity volleyball team, and they are off to a hot start. The first tournament of the season was at Sun Prairie East, and the Warriors exerted their dominance, going 4-0 (8-0) on day one of the tournament. They ended with a 4th place finish. (out of 16).
Grace Vanderhoof had a spring / summer to remember. With graduation right around the corner, and a family move to Texas, there were plenty of distractions that could have gotten in the way of our final track season. Perhaps she was already thinking of El Paso and channeled her inner Speedy Gonzales (Arriba, Arriba! Andale, Andale!) as Grace absolutely CRUSHED the track season.
On the evening of Friday, May 29th, Grace and her teammates faced off against a stacked Sectionals field in Kewaskum with a trip to the State meet on the line. After a warm up in the 4 x 200, Grace was primed to get her team off to a great start as the first leg in the 4 x 400. Our staff was on hand to capture the race. Watch the video below to see how Grace and her teammates punched their ticket with a 4th place finish.
Now, normally, when a team places 4th in a sectional their chances of placing (especially high) on the podium would be quite unlikely. However, the KML girls defied all odds and managed to secure a phenomenal 4th place at state!

Annie Buboltz had a great season of soccer earlier this year and has laced up her cleats again. She just started in Cedarburg's 1st & 2nd grade fall league. She's ready to go! Games run through September 29. Lets go Maroon Team!
Caroline has two musicals coming up with the Falls Patio Players in Menomonee Falls. First is School of Rock Jr., where she plays Mason in the band, September 18 - 20. Then she's been cast as Belinda Cratchit in Christmas Carol, December 4 - 6. (Tracy will be making her stage debut in that same production as part of the ensemble!)

2026 is a BIG year in the Keller household, as Griffin has traded in his set of flags for a helmet and pads as he joins the Chargers football program (6th grade football).
We're sure Coach Keller will have plenty of feedback as the season progresses, good luck Griff!
Silas Dubs played both baseball and soccer this summer. We caught a few action shots of him fielding grounders, taking a cut at a fastball, and playing stifling defense on soccer. Sister Presley started ballet and will also play soccer this fall.
Our final story of the session veers from the "traditional" Buboltz kid activies, but is nonetheless worthy of telling. From the earliest days of Buboltz kids recorded activities, "games" have always been a part of the culture. Whether that be on a field, course, court, or...table.
Over the years, Blake Vanderhoof has used his brain power to whip up on his friends, counsins, and uncles in a variety of tabletop games. Blake especially found an affinity for a game called Star Wars Unlimited, which is a card game. Blake and cousin Micah entered a number of local tournaments. While both did quite well, Blake qualfied for an automatic entry to the world championship hosted at the Venetian Resort in Las Vegas. Micah joined him for the trip and served as the Post Pattern's onsite reporter for the event.
In order to proceed out of the first round, which included over 500 competitors, Blake needed to go 6-2. After a 2-2 start, he faced an uphill battle. However, he knocked out the defending world champion and proceeded to win his next few games to enter the last game of the round with a 5-2 record, needing to win the best of 3 games to advance.
Our onsite reporter shared this before the tilt..."He's playing against a Greef Karga aggression base, it's pretty fast, but Blake and I like the matchup in testing. Initiative dependent". (If you can follow that, I'm impressed).
Blake dropped the first match, while winning the second match to set up a winner-take-all final set. Blake put up a valiant fight before dropping the finale to close out his tournament ranked 173 out of 535 competitors.
