In Edition 4 of the 1981 Post Pattern, we detailed how Green Bay had struggled to a 2-6 mark after 8 weeks. As calls for Bart Starr to be fired were mounting, the team then managed to pull together and snap off three straight wins, including a Week 11 victory over their rivals from Chicago. In front of 55,338 fans in Lambeau Field, the Packers, led by backup QB Charlie Whitehurst, managed to eek out a 21-17 win over the Bears. We aren't allowed to embed the video on our site, but here is the link to watch the game.
Edition 5 of the '81 Post Pattern included the typical weekly picking update. In the guest picker division, that year's Mystery Picker was 9 picks back (while the original MP, Marlene Buboltz, was struggling a bit in her 2nd year). The edition included a Letter to the Editor (from Shorty) as well as more commentary of Bart Starr's coaching. Finally, Mundo wrapped up the newsletter with a report from the wildly successful tailgater from the previous week (FORTY FIVE people!)
