The Christmas edition of the 1981 Post Pattern arrived with the Packers showing a bit of late season punch. After a poor start to the season, the team responded late in the season to make a push for a possible playoff berth. A win against Minnesota brought the team back to .500 (as we documented here). The following week Green Bay took on Central Division foes Detroit for a chance to stay in the hunt. We've included the game broadcast of that game below.
In the Post Pattern contest, Doug had all but sealed up the win (note, Week 15 back then was the penultimate contest for the season, so we are a few weeks behind them today). Just like today, the Mystery Picker was tied for the (guest) picking lead. Everyone's favorite tour guide shared his thoughts in "The QB's Corner", plans were underway for the Post Pattern postseason party, and Collin Vanderhoof was noted for making his picking debut.
